Sony announced their
Playstation Now service today at
CES. This service will allow people to play Playstation 3 games (as well as PS2 and PS1) on various devices without having to own a PS3 via the cloud. We've seen streaming services for movies and TV shows (i.e.
Netflix) work well and be quite popular. This is the first time (to my knowledge) that such a service has been offered for mainstream gaming. It will be interesting to see how well it works as I really think this is the future of gaming. Why go out and pay for an expensive console when you can just pay a small monthly fee and stream the games over the web?
