Gran Turismo: The Contending Cars

Below are the cars that contended in my time trials which did not rank in the top 10. Keep in mind the purpose of this post is to show off some cool cars. The statistics listed do not reflect the cars you can actually buy. The cars used in the time trials are heavily modified and aren't even street legal since changes were made to their exhaust and emissions systems, not to mention soft racing tires were used in their qualification runs.

Dodge Viper
  • Engine Displacement: 8285 cc
  • Power: 983 brake horse power
  • Torque: 948 foot-pounds

Ferrari 599
  • Engine Displacement: 6000 cc
  • Power: 848 brake horse power
  • Torque: 553 foot-pound

If I could have any car on this list or tomorrow's list, it might very well be the 599. I think this car is absolutely beautiful. It has a very 1960s style to it and is flashy but not over the top.

McLaren MP4-12C
  • Engine Displacement: ?
  • Power: 870 brake horse power
  • Torque: 575 foot-pound

This is an awesome little car from McLaren Automotive, the British tuning and race car company famous for it's F1 achievements. I am looking forward to driving the McLaren F1 in the near future to see how it ranks.

Lexus LFA
  • Engine Displacement: 4800 cc
  • Power: 697 brake horse power
  • Torque: 403 foot-pound

Lamborghini Gallardo
  • Engine Displacement: 5200 cc
  • Power: 665 brake horse power
  • Torque: 436 foot-pound

Ferrari 458 Italia
  • Engine Displacement: 4500 cc
  • Power: 724 brake horse power
  • Torque: 465 foot-pound

Despite this car's tendency to catch fire, I think it is pretty stunning. It has super car looks without being too obnoxious in its styling. Probably my second favorite car on this list behind the Ferrari 599 above.
