The Grand Tour guys are always entertaining, though this episode wasn't as memorable as some. They go on a road trip that allegedly no one has done before, starting in Poland and ending at Lake Bled in Slovenia. There wasn't a massive theme to the cars in this episode. They only had to pick a car that likely no one had used for a road trip before. My favorite part was when Captain Slow used his tiny and underpowered car as ambulance to transport Hammond to the pits after he wrecked his race car. The car was so small that half of Hammond's body was hanging out the back of the vehicle. This was a laugh out loud moment. While the gang did their usual shenanigans throughout the episode, it overall was light on car content and heavy on mostly old jokes. It was OK overall and worth watching as a fan of the show, but just wasn't as good as it used to be. It did introduce me to the Soviet-era Formula Easter racing series, and the part in Slovakia with the super and flying cars was particularly interesting from a car perspective (this is supposed to be a show about cars, right?). The show has been announced to end in 2024, so there are only a couple of episodes remaining. Hopefully the final episodes are a bit better.
I wanted to make mention Lake Bled (seen below). I became familiar with Lake Bled through iFit, as a handful of series featured the lake in Slovenia. What an amazing location, as if it were straight out of the pages of a fantasy novel. It is a place I'd really like to see in person some day.
